GBARAMATU: Chief Ojuyaina hails Aketekpe, charges Niger Delta leaders, others to emulate Tompolo

Chief Timothy Intelligent Ojuyaina has hailed the Pere of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba, who marked nine years on the throne on Saturday, for the traditional father's enduring legacy and rule that has brought peace and ongoing development to the riverine kingdom.
The educationist and proprietor of Icon United Millennium School at Orhuwhorun in Udu local government area of Delta State, also described the Niger Delta foremost leader and activist, High Chief Dr Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, as an epitome of love, peace and unity, a trait he urged followers of the revered leader, Niger Delta leaders and Nigerians at large to emulate so as to heal the land, foster peace and unity, and attract God's blessings.
Chief Ojuyaina issued the statement at the grand finale of the Bini-Ebi Madinarbo annual festival in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu LGA of the state, on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
He said, "I see Tompolo as an epitome of love and I see him as somebody that loves others more than himself. I see a great love in his system. For this kind of character and love, it is a very great thing and I am happy that we have this kind of person in our midst."
While admiring the trait of love and the desire by Tompolo to advance the Gbaramatu Kingdom and the Ijaw Nation, Chief Ojuyaina called on the people of the Niger Delta and Nigerians at large to emulate such energy demonsteated by the High Priest to engender more unity and to attract more blessings from God.

"My observation about him is that the man (Tompolo) has the Spirit of Love and he yearns for positive development via infrastructure. All these are the kind of things that our co-brothers are supposed to emulate, not to use hate speech among ourselves, just like what somebody like Wike is doing.
"Wike doesn't have anything to tell the Niger Delta people. If we follow that kind of person, definitely it will bring other crises in the Niger Delta. So we have to advise him. We need to calm down and use calm words, not radical words.
"Any word that you speak out from your mouth, it can either make good impact or it can bring crisis. But if we are guided by love, we would act more responsibly and we would think more of others than ourselves," he noted.
Chief Ojuyaina further noted that many people are yet to fully acknowledge what Tompolo represents in this age and charge such persons to look beyond their selfish interest to appreciate the Niger Delta leader by emulating his wonderful traits.
"Tompolo is an epitome of peace, love and unity. He is a man who loves the whole Nigeria, not just his people. Something I see here is unimaginable. This man is praying for even the pastors, praying for the pregnant women, praying for those that need children, praying for the needy, those that have problems, even those abroad. Your son, students that are going to school, the man is praying for everybody, that anybody that is living within his time should be blessed.
"And we are happy, we in Gbaramatu are happy that we have this kind of person among us, which many of us don't know yet. And by the special grace of God, I charge those that are around him to also emulate him," he added.
On His Majesty's ninth year of reign on the throne, he prayed the Almighty God to continue to guide, strengthen, bless, and equip the traditional father with more wisdom to unite the Gbaramatu people and the Ijaw Nation.
