GBARAMATU: All Hail Aketekpe, Agadagba on Historic Visit to Benikrukru By Amb. Frederick Igere
Have you heard that an historic event is about to unfold in the coastal plains of Benikrukru community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State?
With great delight, let me re-break the breaking news in case you have no clue on the poser above. Once again, Benikrukru community will stand tall like Mountain Everest among other communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom as His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba, sets foot once again on his ancestral soil in a second home coming on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, deemed as another historic visit long awaited.
Like Jesus of Nazareth's glorious entry into Jerusalem, the joy and happiness of the golden people of Benikrukru are once again gathering like a storm and knows no bound as they get prepared to host their beloved majestic king in the best way they can and are capable of.
Being crowned on the throne of our ancestors to preside over the affairs of the kingdom at its headquarters, Oporoza community, and by virtue of his traditional roles as a royal father and king, His Royal Majesty has not been privileged to visit his native hometown, Benikrukru community, even though the people longed to see their king—a dream only achievable by a private or public visit to the traditional golden palace in the headquarters of the kingdom.
But at last, come Wednesday, His Majesty's towering stature will cast his golden shadow on the loving people of Benikrukru community on the home coming. It is a day long anticipated and now that it has manifested, expectations are high but over-flooded with delight.
Aketekpe! Agadagba! The diamond whose light travels unmeasured distance; our pride who cause us to walk tall among other inhabitants of the Earth; the wearer of the crown that adds impeccable beauty to our kingdom; the holder of the treasure chest that secures and protects our culture and traditions; a king among kings.
I, Amb. Frederick Wilson Igere, and my beloved family, welcome Aketekpe, Agadagba, our immaculate Pere back home to Benikrukru, to the land of tourism, to the abode of hospitality, to the island of great men and beautiful women, and to one of the wonders of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
His Majesty, we love you.
Long Live Oboro Gbaraun II (JP)
Long Live Gbaramatu Kingdom
Long Live the Ijaw Nation.
