The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II (Aketekpe, Agadagba); the National President of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide, Jonathan Lokpobiri; and Dr. Yebrade Moses will be among guests at the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide National Elective Convention holding in Oporoza community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Friday, March 1, 2024.

The national convention has as its theme: 'Oil Multinational Divestment of Assets and Its Implication for Niger Delta Development'. 

Hosted by the GYC President, Hon. Shadrach Ebikeme, the programme is part of the activities marking the general election of executive principal officers into the body of youths.

The programme, which has as Father of the Day the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, is chaired by the IYC National President Lokpobiri with Dr. Yebrade as guest speaker.

The programme will engage Gbaramatu youths on a brainstorming session on the impacts of the IOCs divestment on the oil rich region and its future prospects.

The national elective convention will see a new president and executive members of the GYC emerge on Saturday, March 2, to help pilot the youth body.
