FUNERAL: Late Chief Arch. Piniki Azaiye for Burial October 10, Service of Songs Holds October 8

The remains of the late Chief (Arch.) Piniki Azaiye Duwogbegha, the Ganpamowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, who passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, will be laid to eternal rest in Oporoza Community, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, preceded by a service of songs ceremony at his residence by Blue Water Hotel in NigerCat, Effurun, 4pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

This is contained in a burial notice released by the chairman of the burial planning committee, Chief Matthew Ebifiyebebe Pudie, and that was co-signed by Mr. Alfred Piniki and Master Ebisinde Azaiye, on behalf of the family and the children, respectively.

According to the burial notice, the remains of the late Chief Piniki, will be conveyed at 7am from the Safe Haven Mortuary, Okumagba Avenue in Warri, to his hometown Oporoza via Miller Waterfront near N.P.A., for a day burial.

Until his death, Chief (Arch.) Azaiye, who is an architect by profession, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, is the Executive Managing Director of Azap Nigeria Limited, and the Chief Executive Officer of Pinaza Records, among other business enterprise.

The architect and philanthropist who passed away at the age of 56 years will long be remembered for his creative structural works at the take-off campus of the Nigerian Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, in Kurutie community, among other masterpieces in Gbaramatu Kingdom and beyond.

He is survived by two wives, Mrs. Piniki D. Hannah and Mrs. Piniki D. Ufuoma, and seven children amongst whom are Ebisinde Azaiye, Pinasinde Azaiye Gabriella, Elohor Tamaraun-emi Azaiye, Douiba Azaiye, Derrick Azaiye, Desmond Azaiye and Lizzy Korekumor Azaiye.
