FINAL GOODBYE: At 104 Years, Late Boan. Thompson Ekpen Kuruboh Goes Home to Eternal Rest

updated 19 Oct, 2024

As the Sun was prepping to go down in the evening of Friday (October 18, 2024) on the island community of Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, so too families and friends were preparing to say their final goodbyes to their departed iconic father, the late Boanerge Thompson Ekpen Kuruboh.

The late Boanerge Kuruboh, who passed away at the age of a century and four years on October 14, 2024, was until his death an elder in the New Jerusalem Zion Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) church, Oporoza.

The late Boanerge Kuruboh paternal hails from the Kuruboh family of Oporoza in Gbaramatu Kingdom and Egbema Kingdom in Warri North L.G.A., and maternally from the Ubebe family of Kenebra & Ikeretimi Idumus in Oporoza.

The remains of the 104-year-old was honoured with a Christian wake-keep ceremony at the New Jerusalem Zion Church that was attended by ministers, members, and other worshippers from the C&S church in the kingdom that joined the families of the deceased.

On early Saturday morning (October 19, 2024), the body of the late Boanerge Kuruboh was laid to rest amidst tears and sadness, as families and sympathisers bid the iconic father final goodbye.

Though at 104 years, papa lived a long life, however his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren wished death didn't steal their iconic father away. But in their grief they draw comfort from the fact that papa died in Christ and will live again when His Saviour, who once died on the cross but rose on the third day, will come back to the Earth in the Day of Resurrection.

The Boanerge Kuruboh is survived by four children and other relatives. May his golden soul rest peacefully in the Bosom of the Almighty God (Amen).
