The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Gbaramatu chapter in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has announced the commencement of its third phase of its Educational Supplementary Support Scheme (SESS) for students across all levels of tertiary education from Friday, October 24, 2025, to Friday, November 14, 2025.
The IYC Gbaramatu Clan announcement is contained in a statement released by the youth body's clan leadership and signed by its Chairman, Comrade Oyinkuro Wazo Zikurebai; its Secretary, Comrade Tracy Edolo Lawei; and Information Officer, Ari Ebimotimi on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
The announcement, addressed to all tertiary students of Gbaramatu Kingdom, according to the youth body, is aimed overall at strengthening human capital development in the Kingdom towards a prosperous future.
The statement reads as follows: "Building on the resounding success of the first two phases of our Educational Supplementary Support Scheme (SESS), we are honoured to announce the next phase with the launch of the Gbaramatu Tertiary Student Bursary Portal.
"This new phase marks a significant expansion of the program. While previous phases focused exclusively on pre-tertiary students, this iteration is designed to empower students across all levels of tertiary education, including Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education.
"The primary objective of the SESS remains unchanged: to promote higher enrollment in tertiary institutions, reduce dropout rates among financially underserved students, and strengthen the human capital necessary to lead Gbaramatu Kingdom toward a prosperous future.
"The application period will commence on Friday, October 24, 2025, and conclude on Friday, November 14, 2025. For additional information regarding eligibility criteria and specific requirements, applicants are advised to visit the bursary portal at: https://iycgbaramatukingdom.com/
"We encourage all qualified students to complete their registration promptly because successful candidates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, upon verification.
"We extend our profound gratitude to our dedicated partners, the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS), who will play an instrumental role in the verification and selection processes."
