EDUCATION: Gbaramatu student body announces commencement of teaching aids, appeals for support

The National Association of Gbaramatu Students, NAGS, the umbrella body of students in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has announced the commencement of its annual voluntary teaching programme across schools in the kingdom as part of the student body's contribution to improving learning in the riverine area.

The student body disclosed this in a statement it issued and that was signed by its President, Comr. Douye Simon; Secretary, Comr. Afiyagba Emmanuel; and Public Relations Officer, Comr. Kele Precious, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

NAGS leadership also appealed to like-minded organisations and individuals to support the annual teaching initiative aimed at empowering the next generation in the riverine areas.

The statement by NAGS reads, "The National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS) is pleased to announce the commencement of its yearly teaching programme, aimed at promoting academic excellence and holistic development among students in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

"This year's programme promises to be more engaging and impactful, as we introduce innovative educational initiatives, including: extra-curricular activities to foster creativity and teamwork, quiz competitions to encourage healthy academic rivalry, educational resources and materials distribution.

"Our goal is to provide a supportive learning environment, bridging the gap between theory and practical knowledge. We believe that every student deserves access to quality education, empowering them to become leaders and change-makers in their communities.

"This programme is aimed at Improving academic performance through interactive learning methods, develop critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership skills and fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration 

"We invite educators, professionals, and well-wishers to support this noble initiative. Together, let's shape the future of our youth! Join us in empowering the next generation!" the statement concludes.
