The Mr. Egbejule Kingsley-led Gbaramatu Youth Council, GYC, has announced the plan of the youth council, in conjunction with other registered bodies, to embark on a tour of schools across the various communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, to ascertain their overall academic state of learning.

This was made known in a statement titled "Gbaramatu Youth Council Educational Tour" released by the Public Relations Officer of the GYC, Comr. Maxwell Wuruyai, to PENGlobal Community on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The planned assessment school tour, according to the GYC timetable as seen by PENGlobal Community, will last four days, beginning from Tuesday, July 9, 2024, through to Friday, July 12, 2024.

Part of the statement reads, "The proposed tour is intended to holistically have an in-depth interaction with principals, headmasters, headmistresses, students, youth leaders, chiefs and parents, to point out the challenges that have plagued the educational sector of Gbaramatu Kingdom, and strategically proffer solutions to the challenges and lapses that will be observed and noted during the tour.

"This goal will be achieved in conjunction with Gbaramatu Education Support Forum, Gbaramatu Lawyers Association, Gbaramatu Female Graduates, National Association of Gbaramatu Students and Ijaw Youth Council Gbaramatu Chapter collaboratively."

In the timetable, the GYC proposed schedule of visits to different communities, where schools are situated in the kingdom, begins Day 1 on Tuesday, July 9, with a tour to the communities of Egwa, Jones Creek, Okerenkoko, Pepe-ama, Kenyangbene, and Kokodiagene.

The tour continues Day 2 on Wednesday, July 10, to the communities of Benikrukru, Tebujor, Opudebubor, Opuede, and Ijaghala; while on Day 3, Thursday, July 11, the GYC will visit the communities of Azama, Inikorogha, Ubafan, Igoba, Kantu, Kurutie, and Kunukunuma.

The tour will round up on Day 4, Friday, July 12, with visit to schools in Oporoza community, the headquarters of the kingdom.
