updated 13 Nov, 2024

The Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation, in collaboration with other stakeholders, have gifted the sum of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) to 16-year-old God's Favour Ebruphiyor Ufuoma, a native of Arhavarie in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State,, to enable the newly admitted Chemical Engineering student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Osun State, to continue his studies.

The EBF Founder, Mr. Ernest Bebenimibo, made the development known on his Facebook page after presenting a cheque of N200,00O to the beneficiary's father, Dcn. Ufuoma Moses Okoro, at his residence on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

The beneficiary, formerly a student of All Saint Anglican Secondary School in Udu, is acclaimed as Delta State highest scorer in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with an aggregate score of 357, having scored 95 in Mathematics, 75 in English Language, 94 in Physics, and 93 in Chemistry.

According to Mr. Bebenimibo, the father of the beneficiary, Dcn. Okoro, reached out to the Foundation for financial assistance owing to the economic challenges that is posing a difficulty in his ability to meet up with his son's academic expenses.

While presenting the cheque of N200,00O to the father, the EBF Founder said, "Our organization is committed to supporting education and empowering young minds. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of financial constraints.

"This sponsorship is made possible through the generosity of our donors and supporters. We hope this gesture motivates you and others to continue excelling academically and pursuing your dreams. Congratulations on this academic milestone," he added.

Earlier, in a letter of notification sent by the EBF to the beneficiary, as sighted by PENGlobal Community, indicates that the gifted sum is to offset the student's fees.

Part of the letter reads: "Dear God's Favour Ebruphiyor Ufuoma, we are delighted to inform you that ERNEST BEBENIMIBO FOUNDATION has successfully paid in full your school fees for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

"The above name mentioned was the student who scored the highest in the 2024 UTME JAMB this year in Delta state.

"The father, Dcn. Ufuoma Moses Okoro received the cheque on behalf of the son who is now in school studying Chemical Engineering."

Receiving the cheque, Dcn. Okoro, who was filled with joy, expressed his appreciation to the EBF and its donors for helping to relieve him of the financial burden stressing that the intervention was a timely one and a great relief for him and his family.

The story of God's Favour Ebruphiyor Ufuoma is a sad reflection of the state of neglect facing majority of the populace in society, who, though intellectually empowered, are nonetheless handicapped by the lack of funds to fully develop their potentials.
