As the Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup Competition, which flagged-off with an opening ceremony at Ode-Itsekiri (Big Warri) in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday, November 16, entered its second round stage, Team Ika and Team Ndokwa have recorded a draw while Team Itsekiri has recorded a win over Team Ijaw.

Recall that match fixtures for round two were scheduled for Monday, November 25, Wednesday, November 27 and Friday, November 29 for six competing teams of Team Ika (Agbor United FC), Team Isoko (Winsome FC), and Team Ndokwa (Ndokwa East United FC) billed to play their matches at Obiaruku Township Stadium, while Team Ijaw (Patani Strikers FC), Team Itsekiri (Ugbomaru FC) and Team Urhobo (Udu United FC) matches are to be played at Ogbe Primary School in Effurun.

On Monday, November 25, Team Ika drew Team Isoko at the Obiaruku township stadium with an equalizer of 3:3 at full time, while Team Itsekiri defeated Team Ijaw with 2 goals to 1 at full time in the Ogbe Primary School. Both matches were played 2pm.

Meanwhile, upcoming matches at 2pm on Wednesday, November 27, will feature Team Isoko vs Team Ndokwa at the Obiaruku township stadium while Team Itsekiri vs Team Urhobo comes up at the Ogbe Primary School.

At 2pm on Friday, November 29, the fixtures are Team Ika vs Team Ndokwa at the Obiaruku township stadium while Team Urhobo vs Team Ijaw will be played at the Ogbe Primary School.

The Chairman of the local organizing committee (LOC), Hon. Kenneth Nwoamucha, expressed gratitude to all teams for their cooperation, ensuring a smooth tournament, and noted that all venues were carefully selected to provide a level playing field for the teams.

The competition is organised and sponsored by the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) alongside the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) among others, with N5 million up for grabs.
