DELTA ETHNIC PEACE AND UNITY CUP: Team Ndokwa to Battle Team Itsekiri at Finals December 8

The 2024 edition of the Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup football tournament has climaxed into the final stage after the conclusion of the semifinals matches with Team Ndokwa (Ndokwa East United FC) set to battle Team Itsekiri (Ugbomaru FC) on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

The tournament is organised by the Chief Sheriff Mulade-led Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) in collaboration with the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) among other sponsors.

In the semi-final matches, Team Itsekiri (Ugbomarun FC) played a goalless draw against Team Isoko (Winsome FC) but won 4-3 on penalty shootout at the Ogor Technical College, Ughelli Center.

Meanwhile, at the Oleh Township Stadium Center, Team Urhobo (Udu United FC) lost 2-4 to Team Ndokwa (Ndokwa East United FC) on penalty shootout after a 2:2 regulation time draw.

The stage is now set for the final match between Team Itsekiri and Team Ndokwa, while Team Urhobo will battle Team Isoko for third place position.

The final and third-place matches will take place on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 2pm prompt in the Baptist High School Field, Orerokpe Town, in Okpe Local Government Area of the state.

According to Comrade Sheriff Mulade, the initiator of the tournament and National Coordinator of CEPEJ, a reception will be held after the event to host all who contributed to the tournament's success. 

The reception will take place at the Africa for Peace Games-Village/Event Center, Ugolo near Osubi Airport, in Okpe LGA of the state..
