DELTA ETHNIC PEACE AND UNITY CUP: Team Itsekiri, Ndokwa, Urhobo, Isoko FCs emerge as Semi Finalists

Semi finalists have emerged in the ongoing Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup Competition organised by the Chief Sheriff Mulade-led Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) in collaboration with the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) among other sponsors.

The four finalists which emerged at the end of the round two stage of the competition are Itsekiri FC, Ndokwa FC, Urhobo FC, and Isoko FC.

The semifinal fixtures have been announced, and fans are eagerly anticipating the thrilling matches. The semifinals will take place same day on December 3, 2024, with two exciting matches lined up. At the Ogor Technical College in Ughelli, Team Itsekiri (Ugbomarun FC) will face off against Team Isoko (Winsome FC) at 2 pm. Meanwhile, at the Oleh Township Stadium, Team Urhobo (Udu United FC) will battle it out against Team Ndokwa (Ndokwa East United FC) also at 2 pm.

The semifinal matches promise to be intense and exciting, with all four teams determined to secure a spot in the final. 

Team Itsekiri and Team Urhobo have been impressive throughout the tournament, while Team Isoko and Team Ndokwa will be looking to cause upsets and book their places in the final.

Which teams will make it to the final? Will Team Itsekiri's attacking prowess prove too much for Team Isoko, or will Team Urhobo's solid defense be enough to contain Team Ndokwa's attacking threats?

According to the President of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, the Grand Finale is expected to hold on December 8th at the Baptist High School Field, Orerokpe Town, and a Reception for all participating teams at the Africa 4 Peace Games-Village, Ugolo-Osubi, Okpe LGA, Delta State.

Recall that match fixtures for round two were scheduled for Monday, November 25; Wednesday, November 27; and Friday, November 29 for six competing teams of Team Ika (Agbor United FC), Team Isoko (Winsome FC), and Team Ndokwa (Ndokwa East United FC) billed for the Obiaruku Township Stadium, while Team Ijaw (Patani Strikers FC), Team Itsekiri (Ugbomaru FC) and Team Urhobo (Udu United FC) matches were played at Ogbe Primary School, Effurun.
