CONDOLENCE VISIT: Rt. Hon. Ekpemupolo, Other Warri South-West Councillors Sympathise with Hon. Gbofeyin

Honourable members of the legislative chambers in Warri South-West Local Government Council, led by the House Leader and Leader of all Leaders, Rt. Hon. Ekpemupolo Idukedoumene Samuel, have paid a condolence visit to a former councillor and political leader, Chief (Hon.) Gbofeyin Seiebimo Shola, over the recent loss of his dear son, Master Tamaraebi.

The condolence visit which also had in attendance other family members and friends of the former Councillor, including the chairman of Gbaramatu Lawyers Association, Emotimide Friday Esq., held at the Osubi residence of the former Councillor on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

It would be recalled that Chief Gbofeyin, who formerly represented Kunukunuma Ward and is the Amadiwei of Ikantu community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, lost his dear son on October 27, 2024. He was just four years old.

In their condolence message, the legislative members urged the former Councillor and his family members to move on as what has happened cannot be reversed, but rather to accept the loss in good faith.

They prayed God to grant the former Councillor and his household the heart to bear the loss, and that such sad occurrence should never happen again in the home.

The councillors also praised Chief Gbofeyin for his exemplary representation while serving in the LG Council, stressing that such has become a hallmark and a challenge on other serving Councillors.

In his response, Chief Gbofeyin thanked the LG Council leaders for demonstrating brotherhood and recognising his good leadership roles while serving as a Councillor.

"I appreciate you all for coming to visit me over the loss of my dear son and in taking note of the roles I played as a representative in the Council and a leader of my community and the kingdom at large," he said.

Chief Gbofeyin also prayed for the honourable members that what befell him and his household will not be their portion in life and encouraged them to keep up the good work as councillors representing their various wards.

Other members of the Legislative House in attendance are Rt. Hon. Charles Erewa (Deputy Leader), Hon. Richard Atumu (Majority Leader), Hon. Dennis Edolor (Chief Whip), ⁠Hon. Ebizi Aaron, Hon. Tangbe Akpofe, Hon. Kingsley Fregene, and Hon. David Korebor.
