A Project Manager at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Engr. Jeremiah Oritsejolone, has assured the inhabitants of Azama Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, of infrastructural projects that will transform the ancient community.

The Project Manager gave the assurance when he played host to a delegation of some of the executive members of Azama who paid him a courtesy visit on Saturday, November 19, 2024.

The Azama delegation was led by the chairman, Comr. Gbenekama Arthur Gbenekama, who was accompanied by the secretary-general, Hon. Omula Christopher, and a youth leader, Hon. Paul Uyatede, the Special Adviser on Youth Affairs to the Governor of Delta State.

According to Engr. Oritsejolone, who recently laid his stepmother to rest in Azama, assured his visitors of viable projects which he said has been long overdue in the community.

Speaking later after the visit with PENGlobal Community, Comr. Gbenekama said that the visit, which was a successful one, was embarked upon to sympathise with the NDDC Project Manager, a son of the soil, over the recent loss and successful burial of his stepmother.

Speaing further, he said that the visit was to also seek for ways the community could partner with the federal government intervention agency to attract infrastructural development to the community.

"The Project Director has assured us that, come 2025, Azama will experience genesis of infrastructural projects like roads, street lights, civic center among others," Comr. Gbenekama stated.

Recall that Azama community is one of the major communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom and is home to the Fiyewei of the Kingdom, High Chief Amb. Dr. Godspower Gbenekama JP, and a former commissioner, Chief (Barr.) Bosin Ebikeme.
