COMMUNITY DEVT: Igoba Chairman Teibowei, others commend Niger Delta leader Tompolo
A riverine community leader and chairman of Igoba Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Snr. Boan. Teibowei Gift Preye, has praised the foremost Niger Delta leader, High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, for his development strides in the community and the kingdom at large.
The chairman's praise and commendation is coming on the heels of the donation of a speed boat with a 75 Horse Power (HP) outboard engine by Tompolo to the community, on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Teibowei thanked Tompolo for what he termed as a "golden gesture" which he said will aid the movement of inhabitants of the ancient creek community across the waterways especially as its location poses transportation challenge for its indigenes.
"The people of Igoba Federated Community are grateful to our leader, the Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation, for this golden gesture which will go a long way to reduce the suffering of the people especially due to the location of the community in the creeks," he said.
Also adding his voice to the notes of appreciation, the clan chief who is the Uroupawei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief Wellington Bobo (JP), said, "The people of the entire Igoba community are grateful and prayerful to our revered leader for this great effort... Plenty Regards to him. May he remain blessed richly," he prayed.
A woman leader, Mrs. Stella Bobo Mesahrun, added, "I sincerely appreciate the Ódókóríkódó. May God strengthen you on a daily basis and give you more wisdom, sound health and longevity in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
"I also want to appreciate everyone who is working tirelessly to bring development to Igoba community. May God strengthen and richly bless you to do more.
"Congratulations to my community. Please handle it with care. God bless Igoba community and God bless Gbaramatu Kingdom. Amen," she concludes in prayers.
On other development strides by Tompolo, the chairman revealed that the Niger Delta leader had earlier mobilised a dredger to the community to provide sand for housing and other related projects to indigenes of the community.
Igoba community is one of the major and biggest settlements in the Gbaramatu Kingdom area that holds a special place in the history of the kingdom, albeit its location inside the creek has made its infrastructural development a challenge for its inhabitants.
