CHURCH LEADERSHIP: It is my duty to make peace, win souls — Archbishop Amb. Dr. Tonfawei
The founder and spiritual leader of the Dominion Zion Ministry, Oporoza community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West council area of Delta State, Rev. Amb. Dr. Philip Tonfawei (JP), who recently was installed as an Archbishop in the kingdom, has said that it is his duty to propagate peace and to populate the Kingdom of God.
The spiritual leader of the Dominion Zion Ministry was presented with his certificate of ArchBishop by His Eminence, Most Rt. Rev. Dr. M.B. Abeh (JP) of the St. Michael Church of Christ C&S Zion, Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, in conjunction with the World's Bishops Council, West Africa at the headquarters of the church in Oporoza, on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
Archbishop Tonfawei was also a recipient of other leadership mantles conferred upon him by His Excellency, Prelate Archbishop Prof. Eseimokumoh Alex Okubo (JP) among which are; Conferment of Doctor of Theology (ThD) from the Mahanaim College of Theology (an affiliate of British Standard University).
Others are Installation Certificate as Archbishop, and Ministerial License, both from the Ultimate Priesthood College and Apostolic Communion (UPCOBAAC); Conferment of Doctoral Fellow from the Institute of Peace, Conflict Resolution and Entrepreneurial Research (IPCER); and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from the Angel Global University accredited to Christian Theological Accreditation Int'l (CTAI).
Speaking to PENGlobal Community, the Archbishop Tonfawei thanked the Gbaramatu people for their prayers and support towards the achievement of the significant and spiritual milestone.
The spiritual leader of the Dominion Zion Ministry, also known as the Land of Dominion, Fia Fia Zion, pledged to intensify his efforts in preaching peace and winning more souls for the kingdom of God through a vigorous campaign especially in the riverine areas.
"First, I thank the Almighty God for what He has done and to the Gbaramatu people for their support.
"My message to the people is that they should hold their God firmly because without God, life is vanity. They should serve God very well, do good, and focus on His Word.
Speaking on what the people should expect on his being conferred as Archbishop, he said, "As Archbishop I have to go to every corner in the creeks to preach the Word of God and to make them understand the Word of God, as well as to win more souls for God's Kingdom."
While also addressing issues of exploitation and misconception about Christianity, the Archbishop Tonfawei stressed, "Christianity is not a way of exploiting people for money but it is a reality. Heaven is real, Hell is real. It is my duty to also make peace and to let people understand that God exists."
