A social cultural organisation, the Gbaramatu Ibe Gbolei under the leadership of Apst. Amb. Johnson Bibogha (JP), is organising an honourary celebration for the late Puwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief J.G.B. Ari (JP).

The celebration is billed to hold in the private residence of the late Puwei at Oru Standard Road off Jakpa Road in Warri, Delta State on Monday (November 13, 2023), 10am prompt.

According to the chairman of the social cultural organisation, Apst. Bibogha (JP), the late High Chief is a patron of the organisation who has made significant contributions to the Gbaramatu and other Ijaws of Warri, hence the celebration in honour of the Puwei's memory.

Also speaking on the celebration, a planning committee member, Chief Felix Eguare, said all sons and daughters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area and environs are invited to the celebration of life.

Earlier, a notification post on the celebration specified that attendees should be "on native attire, wrapper/top" as part of the dress code for the ceremony.

The highlife Ijaw musician, Prince Smally will be supplying musical entertainment at the celebration. 

Recall that the late Puwei who joined his ancestors on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, will be laid to rest on Friday, November 17, in his hometown Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu Kingdom. Meanwhile a service of songs ceremony holds on Tuesday, November 14.
