C-SQUARE: Tantita Boss High Chief Kestin Pondi Counsels Latest Couple as Comr. & Mrs Clever Igere Celebrate Union
The latest couple, Comr. & Mrs. Clever Igere, who sealed their union in a traditional marriage ceremony in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, in their celebration of love on the success of their union hosted families, friends and well-wishers to a reception party.
Among top dignitaries in attendance is the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi, who schooled the latest couple on the success of a successful union.
The celebration of love by the couple witnessed the cutting of their marriage cake and special dance among other activities.
High Chief Pondi who directed his counsel to Mrs. Clementina Igere (formerly Miss Clementina Moses), advised the couple to be tolerant and patient, assuring them that they must join hands together to make their marriage a successful one.
He said, "There is a saying that we have never had a graduate from this institution (marriage). It is actually true. For my sister, I want to plead with you. If your marriage must last, you have to tolerate your husband.
"Those of us who are men, we know ourselves, we are always misbehaving. We are always going to look at people when they pass. Just push yourself straight and leave him. Don't worry. After some time, youthfulness will still pass.
"For your marriage to stay long and lasting, you have to bear with your husband. You have to be supportive. To support does not mean you nust go find money and bring home. Let him understand that he should not look at other girls again, that he should look at only you. That responsibility is in your hand.
"And today, I always tell people that, getting married is just the beginning; staying in marriage is what is most important. And today, we are all gathered, we are all celebrating, but our prayer will always be that God will give you the strength to keep this marriage.
"I am sure that you attend a lot of marriage classes. If you do not attend, please, your marriage is your marriage. It is not family marriage. If there are issues, try as much as possible to sort it out among yourselves. It is only when you cannot do it that you can bring in some trusted family members. Every time you talk to somebody, you don't know the person's interest," he added.
High Chief Pondi closed his counsel with a prayer for the latest couple, saying: “And our prayer will always be with the two of you. Our prayer is that God will always multiply this marriage; God will give you children that will bring out your name, that will promote your name. And God will give you all the resources you need to grow this marriage and train your children.”
