BURUTU: Former SSA to Okowa Fulfils Scholarship Pledge to 16 Beneficiaries Across 11 Wards as Fboumiebi Foundation Appeals for Stakeholders' Support

In continuation of its 2021 scholarship initiative embarked upon in the Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, the Fboumiebi Educational Foundation, chaired by High Chief Amb. Francis Boumiebi (JP), the immediate-past Senior Special Assistant to former governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Matters, has fulfilled its pledge to 16 beneficiaries in the second year of the scheme.

This was disclosed on Friday, October 6, 2023, by the Coordinator of the Fboumiebi Educational Foundation, Comr. Joshua Keneware, in a statement of appreciation to its sponsor who is also the Coordinator of the Delta Political Vanguard, Burutu Chapter, and founder of the Burutu Political Alliance.

Part of the statement from the Coordinator reads: “Fboumiebi Educational Foundation has confirmed the payment of Batch B beneficiaries across Burutu Local Government Area. The Coordinator of the Foundation expresses his gratitude to his Boss, Founder and Chairman of Fboumiebi Educational Foundation, High Chief Amb. Francis Boumiebi (JP), who hails from several communities and kingdoms in ijaw land, but mostly traced by lineage traditionally / politically from Ogulagha community in Ogulagha Kingdom and traditionally from Obotebe community in Obotebe Kingdom; a traditional chieftaincy title holder from both kingdoms in Burutu LGA as the Ogungbeinwei / Kariwei; a frontline PDP member/leader from ward 11, Ogulagha/Iduwini, for his benevolent contributions to humanity, including the young and old.”

According to the Coordinator of the Foundation, the scholarship initiative was in response of its sponsor's determination to weigh in on the plights of students having “had a thought about the challenges and difficulties faced by students in life and his own experience too as a student.”

Explaining further he said that "The Fboumiebi Educational Foundation was initiated in 2021 to tackle students financial issues of Burutu indigenous university students across the 11 wards in the LGA where N50,000 is awarded to each beneficiaries for every academic year.

"The mission and vision is to assist many students who wrote JAMB, some even gained admission but lost it because of fund difficulties to do the needfuls like [paying] school fees, accommodation, feeding, logistics etc." Comr. Keneware added.

Among the beneficiaries of the schooarship scheme are: Ebisine Precious Ebipaipre (Niger Delta University) from Torugbene community, Ward 1; Obiriki Denyefa Happy (Novena University) from Tuomo community, Ward 2; Elvis Tameoweizo Mene (Federal University, Otouke) from Tamigbe community, Ward 3; Prince Emmanuel (Federal University, Otouke) from Eseinbiri community, Ward 4; Fanti Covenant Bobo-anga (Novena University) from Ojobo community, Ward 5; Esther Souye Lokoja (Federal University, Otouke) from Ndoro community, Ward 6; Zakarama Francisco Layefa (Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma) from Ayakoromo community, Ward 7; Clara Amina Agonoware (Obafemi Awolowo University) from Kiagbodo community, Ward 8; Frank Comolus Forteta (Igbinedion University, Okada) from Egoudor community, Ward 9; and Okou Andaowei Anthony (Edwin Clark University) from Obotebe community, Ward 10.

Other beneficiaries from Burutu Ward 11 are Kiyagba Tamar Favour (Novena University) from Iduwini community; Julius Princess (Niger Delta University) from Ogulagha community; Odubo Victory (University of Benin) from Obotobo community; Tuma Seiyefa Annabel (Novena University) from Sokebolou community; Benson Gift (Delta State University) from Obuguru community; and Ugoh Tanwei Ebimobo-ere (Novena University) from CGM, Ogulagha community.

While Comr. Keneware congratulated beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme across the 11 wards in the Burutu LGA and thanked God for using the Chairman of the Foundation to "transform lives and for humanitarian service to the society at large", he also appealed "to Government at all levels, agencies, IOCs, NGO's and individuals to support" the initiative that is aimed at eradicating “students financial suffering in school.”

Speaking on its sponsor and the Fboumiebi Educational Foundation, he said, "High Chief Boumiebi has received series of award from different student unions and educational organizations for his relentless love for humanitarian service and education"  and added further that "The organization is committed to the wellbeing of her beneficiaries to their final year in school,"  just as he urged "all beneficiaries to remain focus to their academic works."
