The resident Pastor Friday Mala of the Redeemed Christian Church of God's (RCCG) Mount Carmel Model Parish in Udu council area of Delta State has reiterated the need for humans to be thankful to the Almighty God always as he celebrated his 50th Birthday Anniversary with Thanksgiving on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Pastor Mala, a native of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West council area of the State and a member of the Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship (GICF) earlier turned 50 on April 21, 2025.

Pastor Mala, who was joined by his family members and well-wishers during the Thanksgiving service in the church auditorium at No. 7 Uduvwogba Street by NBTC Company Junction, Ovwian, revealed that it was his way of demonstrating appreciation to the Almighty God for keeping him alive as he turned 50.

"The reason for the celebration is God's faithfulness for keeping me to clock 50. It was God's faithfulness, nothing more," said Pastor Mala in a chat with PENGlobal Social as he shared insight on the celebration.

Continuing he said, "A lot of people might say 'Ah! What is 50 years, people have attained that!' But so many people have died. It is not because one is important but it was the grace of God. When God do something we should deem it fit to appreciate God. When you appreciate God for little things, I think you are asking for more.

"So, when you appreciate God for making you to see 50, you are telling God that He must keep you to see my 100 in good health, in prosperity and long life. So that is just the reason for the Thanksgiving.

"My message is that we should learn how to appreciate God irrespective of how big the thing is. When you appreciate God, you are opening more doors of blessing, more doors of long life, more doors of prosperity," Pastor Mala added.

Other highlight of the Thanksgiving is the offer of cash gifts by the celebrant and his wife handed to the elderly in the church as a token of their appreciation and support received from them in the course of their service in the ministry.

In expression of their gratitude, the beneficiaries who comprise of the elderly men and women in their 50's and above, offered prayers of long life and prosperity on the celebrant and his family.

Pastor Mala and his family later hosted guests to a reception ceremony at his residence in Ovwian in continuation of the celebration of God's faithfulness in marking his Golden Jubilee.
