BIOGRAPHY: Sorrow as Families, Sympathisers Pay Last Respect to Late Konkiemele James Kennedy

It was an atmosphere of sorrow as families, friends and sympathisers of Late Mr. Konkiemele James Kennedy paid their last respect to the deceased as his remains were interred at Igoba Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

Earlier, the remains of the late Mr. Kennedy was conveyed from the Safe Haven Mortuary in Warri to the Miller Waterfront near NPA, en route to his hometown for the funeral rites.

According to the biography, the Late Mr. Konkiemele James Kennedy was born on 25th December 1972 at Tebujor Town in Gbaramatu Kingdom into the families of Pa. Teibowei Kendeke in Teiye Pelebogha Quarter of Igoba and Agoba of Elei Quarter in Okerenkoko, and Ogida Seigha in Nehi-Bralabor Quarter in Benikrukru, all in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

He attended Fiyewei Primary School in Oporoza Town were he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate, as well as attended several vocational training institutions where he got the knowledge of outboard engine repairs. 

The late Mr. Konkiemele was an intelligent gentleman who gained the trust of many when it comes to repairing outboard engines. A lot of people brought their outboard engines for him to repair, and within a short while he will fix then without delay.

Late Mr. Konkiemele was dedicated to duty and was a team player, a hard worker and always at his duty post. He worked with Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF) between 2006 and 2008 as a Supervisor for the pipeline and facilities surveillance department. HE was a good chief security officer and earned himself a unique title, “The River Don”.

Late Mr. Konkiemele will not be forgotten in a hurry because he enjoys interacting with both the young and elderly; builds relationships among his friends. He was a very social man, he made friends easily with people irrespective of their social status. 

He was an easy going and accommodating person, spending his time with friends and family. He was a lover of music as his custom he plays Ijaw high life music and was a real fan of Ijaw musicians. He may be angry with you but in a short while he will reconcile with you. He was a disciplinary but do not take trivial things to heart.

He was the immediate past vice chairman of Ikparagbene community and one time chairman of Nehi/Bralabor Quarter in Benikrukru community.

Until his death, Mr. Konkiemele James Kennedy was married to Mrs. Doris Konkiemele and their union is blessed with children. He is survived by an aged mother, six children and two grandchildren.

Adieu Dad rest in the Bosom of the Lord, till we meet to part no more.
