Though she grew up as a young girl in her native home, Ozoro, she later moved with her parents to the commercial city of Warri.

Amb. (Mrs) Blessing Oghale Gbenekama (JP), in her early age, having been raised by educationally conscious parents, knew the importance of education, and never allowed any factor to hinder her from achieving her educational pursuit in life.

She started her education at the DSC Primary School from 1991 to 1996 (where she completed her First School Leaving Certificate). After she completed her secondary education, she proceeded to Topnotch Computer institute in Warri, where she obtained a Diploma in Computer Studies in 2007. Desirous of attaining the pinnacle of her educational career and her quest for same, made her further proceeded to the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, where she studied from 2005 to 2010, and bagged a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology.

Not done yet, she later proceeded to bag a Master's Degree in Development Sociology in DELSU from 2021 to 2023. Until her unfortunate demise on the 7th of June, 2024, Amb. (Mrs) Blessing Oghale Gbenekama (JP) was a nursing student at the Delta State College of Nursing, Warri.

After her secondary education, she was gainfully employed as Logistics Officer at Betty Catering Services, Warri (1991 - 2001); she served as a Cashier at CTL (2002 - 2003), she also worked at Heartland Hotel as Personal Assistant (2004 - 2005), and as Logistics Officer in Gokem Perfect View Limited, Warri. Until her demise, she was an Administrative Officer, Vice-Chancellor's Office at the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko.

Amb. (Mrs) Blessing Oghale Gbenekama (JP) was a devoted Christian, who served as Protocol in her local Church, Christ Missionary Crusaders Church, Kolokolo Layout, Enerhen, and was also serving God faithfully with her husband at Anglican Church, Azama in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

She got married to her heartthrob, High Chief Amb. Dr. Godspower T.D.A. Gbenekama (JP). Their home was blessed, peaceful and a fruitful one. Their marriage is blessed with beautiful children – Tarelayefa, Ebizezigha and Fiyewei.

She was a supporting wife to her husband, High Chief Amb. Dr. Godspower Gbenekama (JP) and cared for others, built good relationships, and drew people close to herself.

According to a member of the Gbenekama family, Dr. Alfred Mulade, who is the Registrar, Nigeria Maritime University, NMU, Okerenkoko in Gbaramatu Kingdom, has this to say:

"Our sister and our in-law, my dear staff, a very beloved staff, very warm, very articulate, very joyous any time you see her, and very happy person, has left to be with the Lord. We are consoled by the fact that she lived a very good life, in the family, and she lived true to her name, Blessing Oghale. In some cultures, in some languages, people will say people live by their name. And in the English, they call it nominative determinism. That is exactly what has happened. Since she found expression in her family, it has been one blessing to the other. And all those that have come across her, have reason to testify to that fact. In her place of work, in her place of worship (which is the church, the Anglican church), in her place, everywhere she finds herself."

She will be remembered for her kindness and selflessness, and until resurrection day, she will rise again and we will see her in Glory because she knew, believed and served God through Christ Jesus.

May her gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.
