BIOGRAPHY: Adieu to a virtuous woman, irreplaceable mother, Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala Nee Fiyemortua Ejoh

02 Mar, 2025

The remains of the late Mrs. Inainimi Abei Mala nee Fiyemortua Ejoh, a native of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, was finally committed to Mother Earth with prayers by her family members for a peaceful rest in the Bosom of the Almighty God until the Resurrection Day.

But in their disposition to not be overtaken by grief but to rejoice in the celebration of her Christian life despite her passing away at the age of 68 years, fond memories of their beloved mother and grandmother however brought a realisation of the vacuum her physical absence has created in the family.

"Our loving and caring mother, your presence will be missed so much. Rest on mom; your memories we treasure; your children, grandchildren, beloved family members will continue to carry on with your legacy forever.

"We are not mourning at all but celebrating the grace of God in your life. You died in Christ. And to die in Christ Jesus is a great gain! Rest on in the Bosom of the Lord - a caring mother. Rest on in the Bosom of the Lord - a prayer warrior. Rest on in the Bosom of the Lord - a virtuous woman.

"You left a very big vacuum, who can fit into it now? No one can fit into it, but God Almighty will fill the vacuum. Can there be another woman like you in our lives? Definitely there's no woman like you. Late Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala, you will forever be missed and your footprint remains indelible by the grace of God. May your gentle soul rest in peace. Amen," wrote the children in her biography.

The complete biography reads as follows:

Late Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala was born in the year 1956 to the family of Pa Fiyemortua Ejoh of Seiseibugha Quarter in Inikorogha Town and Ikirentimi Quarter in Oporoza Town, both in Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State. As nature will have it, it takes two to bear a child. And so, late Mrs Inainimi Abei Mala hails maternally from the family of Mrs lyorozigha Igbosusibewei of Ukpolukpor Quarter in Igoba Town and Zifa of Iva/Agbo Quarters in Kunukunuma Town, both in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

Late Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala lost her father when she was in her mother's womb. She was later given birth to and was raised by her uncle, late Pa Uluse Ejoh. The young and courageous Inainimi Helen did not allow the challenges of life to affect her growing up despite losing her father as at that time. Rather, she lived a fulfilled destiny with the help of her paternal uncles, Pa Ejoh and Pa Wenibuwoseigha Binama, all of blessed memory.

She later left Inikorogha and joined her grandfather, Pa Igbosusibewei in Igoba Town Gbaramatu kingdom. She was a humble and respectful young girl in her youth age until she got married. She was one of the children that her mother, late Mrs. Iyorozigha Igbosusibewei loved so much because of her humbleness and respect for the elderly people.

Late Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala did not have any opportunity to go to school because of the early death of her father. But as a young girl she has the passion to go to be educated. However, financial constraints denied her from gaining informal education because of lack of funding. This made Mama to vow that her children must be educated. As such, Mama struggled to train her children in school single-handedly while depending on her fishing business and other trades.

Mama was exposed to fishing at a very tender age; she had a passion for fishing which later became her primary source of livelihood. She engaged in different fishing activities and later moved into other trading activities like selling of fishes and crayfish at the Ogbe-Ijoh Market in Warri, until her demise.

Late Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala got born again in the year 2009, after the death of her late husband at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ebiwolade Zion in Tebujor Town, Gbaramatu Kingdom. She became a dedicated member until she left the church.

Mama later moved to Warri because of her illness in the year 2012. Being a woman with a heart for God, her change of location made her to become a member of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry. She was a dedicated worshipper and a junior partner member.

In 2017, because of her love for and her dedication and devotion to the things of God, Mama became a full member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Mount Carmel Model Parish in Ovwian, under the Jesus Vineyard Area/Zone, a parish where her senior son, Pastor Friday Mala was the Pastor-in-charge of the parish.

Mama was in love with RCCG Mount Carmel Model Parish. She became an integral part of the parish and was contributing immensely to the development and growth of the Church. There is no contribution that Mama will not be involved in, like "Go-a- Fishing" and other women contributions in the parish. May God found her worthy to be in His Bosom in Jesus name, Amen.

Late Mrs Inainimi Helen Abei Mala got married to late High Chief Robert Abei Mala and the union was blessed with eleven (11) children. Sadly, she is survived by nine (9) children and 30 grandchildren before her demise.

Mama passed through so many challenges in raising her children. She was a loving and caring mother that has equal love and care for all her children and grandchildren when she was alive.

When things were tough financially, Mama would sell her wrappers and other properties to take care and train her children in school. Even in her sick bed, Mama showed concerned for her children's welfare. She gives generously to everyone who comes her way. Mama does not also discriminate; she is a cheerful giver and can give her last savings to anyone in need.

Mama hospitality was equal to none, her sense of humor was extraordinary which earned her astonishing love and respect from both the young and the old. She was well-loved by her peers, children, siblings; her husband's family, mostly her husband's children and all that have had encounter with her. She will be forever remembered.

She passed on the 6th of July 2024 after a brief illness in Warri at the age of 68 years.
