APPRECIATION: Note of Gratitude From the Families of Late Madam Ode Queen Oritsejolone (Nee Yokoto)
Our golden mother, Late Madam Ode Queen Oritsejolone Ogun Nee Yokoto, slept in the Lord peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, the 2nd of November 2024, at Azama Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West L.G.A. of Delta State, at the age of 115 years.
To the glory of the Almighty God, in our grief saddened by her sudden departure despite her living beyond a hundred years old, we have paid our last respect and in honour of her legacies laid her to eternal rest on Sunday at Kurutie Community, her hometown, after a befitting social wake-keep ceremony in Azama on Saturday.
We therefore acknowledge the grace of the Almighty God whose provisions are ever sufficient and thank Him for giving us a conducive atmosphere as well as preserve everyone that honoured us with their presence to pay Mama their last respect.
We also offer our appreciation to the elders, chiefs, executive council members, women and youths of Azama Community as well as every other personalities that availed us with their company, offered financial support, and words of encouragement in our moment of sadness.
It is our prayers that the Almighty God will honour each and every one of us with long life as our golden mother and grandmother lived, and that, just as our late mother left behind a rich legacy, so too it is our prayers that the Almighty God grant us the wisdom to do much more better, to leave an enduring heritage for our descendants.
Yes, Mama lived a long life and has gone home to rest after such a long sojourn on the Earth. However, for us, if we are to have our way, we would wish that she is still here with us as a golden mother and grandmother. As mere mortals whom we are, we cannot question God, but to give Him thanks, trusting that our golden mother forever is in a much better place.
May her golden soul continue to rest peacefully in the Bosom of the Creator (Amen). Thank you.
