ANNIVERSARY: Ijaw music group G5 to celebrate one year on stage February 15, invites general public
The Gbaramatu Five Brothers Band of Africa (G5), a musical body of Ijaw performing musicians from the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, is set to mark and celebrate its one year anniversary of stage performance, on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
In a notice sent to PENGlobal Entertainment by the musical group, the one year anniversary celebration marking the group's performance on stage is scheduled to hold at the GT Maine's Hotel opposite Niger Cat Junction by Omimi Street, Ekpan, from 1:00pm prompt.
The group further revealed that the purpose of the anniversary celebration springs from its members "one year of togetherness, love and God's grace upon their musical careers".
The G5 membership, which comprises of King Zubiri, Perebode Aruwei, Morris Piniki, Master Orukumo, and Senator Agbe, however maintained that each member have individual years of experience in their musical career spanning several years.
Giving additional clarification, the group asserted that, "This one year on stage celebration doesn't mean we haven't spend more than one year individually in the business.
"The likes of Perebode Aruwei and Morris Piniki have been in this industry for over two decades. King Zubiri as well have spend over a decade in this music business; Master Orukumo and Senator Agbe have spent numbers of years in the same business. Our one year on stage celebration is our coming together as brothers," the statement reads.
The G5 called on lovers of Ijaw music and leaders all over the Ijaw Nation to grace the one year anniversary celebration which it said promises to be entertaining and fun-filled.
"We are using this medium to invite the general public to grace the occasion. A lot of activities will be added to spice up the event," the group assured.
