All is now set for the final and third place matches in the ongoing Tompolo Peace and Unity Football Competition as Oporoza FC defeated Kunukunuma FC by four goals to nil in the second game encounter.

The football match of the competition, which is organised as part of the activities marking the 17th edition of the Amasuo-Ugeh Festival by the Comr. Pedro Bekenawei-led exco and the Chief George Timiyan-led Amasuo-Ugeh Planning Committee, held in the Ebiabu Primary School field at Kokodiagbene community, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Recall that the football competition flagged-off on Sunday, December 15, between the host, Kokodiagbene FC and Benikrukru FC, which ended 2:1 in favour of the latter.

In the first half, Kunukunuma FC conceded two goals, while another two goals were added at full time of the encounter.

The third place match between Kokodiagbene FC and Kunukunuma FC is billed for Thursday, December 19, while Benikrukru FC and Oporoza FC will compete for the first place on Saturday, December 21.

The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of N200,000k, while the first, second and third runners-up will go home with cash prizes of N150,000k, N100,000k, and N50,000k respectively, amounting to N500,000k prizes.

A minute of silence was observed in honour of one of the Kunukunuma FC players who passed away of recent. It is believed the incident demoralised the team and affected their performance.

Present during the game is the Sports Chairman of Kokodiagbene, Mr. Victor Emotimide and the Local Organising Committee Chairman, Mr. Solomon Akoto.
