The member and speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Warri South-West Constituency, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and the house of representatives member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Hon. Julius Pondi, have both commended the people of Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu Kingdom for their sense of unity and peaceful disposition which will help to create room for more human and capital development in the community.

The lawmakers gave the commendation at the just-concluded annual 16th edition of the Amasuo-Ugeh Festival that held in Kokodiagbene community on Friday, December 22, 2023.

Among some of prominent personalities in attendance at the 16th edition of the festival include the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi; the Chairman of Delta State Waterways and Land Security, Chief Boro Opudu; Chief Promise Lawuru popularly known as Ozigizaga; Chief Fezigha Odu, Chief Ebimoboere Oguma, Chief (Hon.) Friday Bobo.

Delivering his address, Hon. Pondi who played the role of chairman of the occasion, noted that the people of Kokodiagbene have been consistent in keeping with the tradition of hosting the annual festival whose 2023 edition happened to be the 16th edition in a row.

While stressing that he remains a proud son of Kokodiagbene, the lawmaker commended the Comr. Pedro Bekenawei-led executive council for maintaining the tradition which helps to promote peace as well as unite the people towards a common purpose.

On his part, Hon. Guwor who was a special guest of honour, commended the executive leadership and the good people of Kokodiagbene for embracing peace which is needed for the siting of more infrastructural projects and human capacity development.

While he stressed on the importance of peace, he encouraged the people of Kokodiagbene to continue to keep up with their peaceful disposition to create the tranquil atmosphere for the sustenance of the developmental projects that have been recorded in the community of recent.

Both Guwor and Pondi pledged their continuous support towards the infrastructural development and growth of the community.
