ACHIEVEMENT: Eguare secures Provisional Medical Laboratory Science Practice Licence
A graduate of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Novena University, Ogume, in Delta State, Eguare Christabel Enatimiebi, has achieved a major milestone in medical practice with the issue of a Provisional Licence to Practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
The achievement was announced in a congratulatory post on Monday (June 29, 2026) night by her proud father, Chief (Capt.) Felix Eguare, JP, the Yerindewei of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West, and Chairman, Management Committee, OKOEA Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) for the Jones Creek Oil Field.
Eguare had formally bagged a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the Novena University that qualified her to be eligible for the provisional license assigned registration number RA/MLS/50984.
The provisional licence, issued under the provisions of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria Act 11 of 2003, certifies that Eguare has fulfilled the academic and character requirements necessary for registration as an Intern Medical Laboratory Scientist.
The issuance of the licence marks an important milestone in Eguare's professional journey, qualifying her to commence her internship and practical training under the supervision of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria as she advances toward full professional registration.
The achievement reflects the successful completion of her professional training at Novena University and underscores the institution's continued contribution to producing qualified healthcare professionals for Nigeria's medical sector.
Also, it is believed that Eguare who hails from Kokodiagbene Community is the first class of Gbaramatu citizen to be issued with a Provisional Licence to Practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, earning her a historic place in the history of the kingdom.
The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, a federal statutory agency established by Act 11 of 2003, regulates the education, training, registration, licensing, and practice of Medical Laboratory Science professionals across the country.
