The Chairman, Board of Trustees, OKOEA Host Communities Development Trust (HCDT), Hon. (Amb.) Monday Akpoapaye Mieyefa, has described the Chairman of Maton Engineering Nigeria Limited, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, as "a maker of men and lover of humanity" for his astounding contributions and unprecented philanthropic acts that have positively transformed many lives.

The commendation is contained in a eulogy written and signed by the Chairman of OKOEA HCDT, Mieyefa, and made available to PENGlobal Community on Monday, February 2, 2026.

The eulogy is coming ahead of the 50th birthday celebration of the Gbaramatu Kingdom born billionaire, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, officially slated for Sunday, February 8, 2026, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to the Chairman of OKOEA HCDT, Tonlagha is one of the best things that has happened in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria because of the impact his life is having across board.

He further noted that the native of Benikrukru Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, by his philanthropic deeds, has laid credence to the fact that humans are the best resource ever created by the Almighty God.

The eulogy reads, "Today we celebrate a maker of men and lover of humanity, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, a leader, who, like the Biblical Abraham, has been a blessing to countless lives outside his immediate family and the Gbaramatu community.

"Today we recognise his passion for helping the less privilege by his rising up to the needs of others, incomprehensible acts that shows him as a humble man with a golden heart and one who fears God.

"Today, we raise high a leader who has made many youths to be gainfully employed, who has established many entrepreneurs, who has rescued many from untimely death, and empower many beneficiaries across the country.

"Today we rejoice with a lover of community development, one who has redefined the development landscape of his home community Benikrukru and has contributed much to the Gbaramatu Kingdom infrastructure-wise.

"On behalf of other Board members of the OKOEA Host Communities Development Trust, host to NEPL in the Jones Creek Field Operations OML 42, I say a Happy Golden Jubilee celebration to an unprecedented and passionate leader of our time, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, Chairman, Maton Engineering Nigeria Limited.
