The National Democratic Party, NDP, House of Representatives candidate for Warri Federal Constituency, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, Ph.D, has unveiled a seven-point development agenda aimed at promoting unity, addressing unemployment, empowering women and youths, and advancing inclusive development across the constituency.

Chief Mulade presented the blueprint, known as the Sheriff Mulade Development Compact, during a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Warri Correspondents Chapel on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Speaking with journalists, the House of Representatives hopeful said the visit was to formally inform the Chapel of his ambition and present his vision for effective and people-focused representation in the Warri Federal Constituency.

He listed the key pillars of the compact as Purpose-Driven Representation; Unity-Driven Leadership; People-Oriented Projects; All-Inclusive Representation; Economic Development; Employment Opportunities; and Accessibility, Reliability and Accountability.

On unity, Mulade said his administration, if elected, would foster peaceful coexistence among the Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo and all residents of Warri Federal Constituency, stressing that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.

He said his proposed projects would be tailored toward the needs of the people and the overall development of the constituency, while assuring that every ethnic group, community and interest group would have a sense of belonging in his representation.

Speaking on economic development, Chief Mulade, who is the Ibe-Sorimowei of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, said women and youths would be empowered through skills acquisition, job creation and business-support initiatives, as he disclosed plans to establish an Employment Desk in his constituency office, which would serve residents across ethnic groups and support access to job opportunities.

The NDP candidate also promised business grants for women and employment opportunities for youths, noting that such measures would help curb thuggery, corruption and other social vices.

“I am determined to make Warri a better place through massive job opportunities before the end of my four-year tenure,” he said, adding that he would remain accessible and accountable to the people, especially the youths.

The NDP candidate further pledged to work with relevant government institutions and stakeholders to tackle infrastructural decay and strengthen economic development in Warri Federal Constituency, and stressed that his decision to seek election into the House of Representatives was driven by a desire to give the people of the Constituency a stronger voice at the federal level.

According to Chief Mulade, he chose the NDP because it is one of the freest political parties and is not burdened by encumbrances that could hinder his aspiration to serve the people, while he maintained that constituency funds belong to the people and must be deployed transparently for projects and programmes that directly improve their lives. He also promised to work closely with traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders for the peace and progress of Warri.

Responding, the Chairman of the NUJ Warri Correspondents Chapel, Chief Akpokona Omafuaire, commended Chief Mulade for the seven-point agenda, describing him as an activist, peacemaker and leader who has consistently stood for the interest of the people.
