PIA: Dr. Olaye Messiah emerges OKOEA HCDT Board Trustee Chairman, pledges to run an all-inclusive office in acceptance speech

In compliance with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021, Dr. Olaye Messiah Doupade has emerged Board Trustee Chairman of the OKOEA Host Communities Development Trust (HCDT) in the JPMT OML 42, Jones Creek Field, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Dr. Olaye, who hails from Okerenkoko Federated Community, heads a five member Board Trustees of the OKOEA HCDT whose membership comprises of Okoroloko John Frederick representing Omadino community, Johnny Ebiye representing Ekpemu-Akpata community, Mieyefa Monday Akpoapaye representing Akpata-Gbegbe community, and Timiyan Jackson Tobokaye representing Kokodiagbene community.

The Board Trustees of the OKOEA HCDT are saddled with the tasks to manage the assets and funds of the trust efficiently and competently, to finance and execute projects for the benefit and sustainable development of as well as to facilitate economic empowerment opportunities in the host communities.

Speaking to PENGlobal Community on his emergence as Board Trustee Chairman, Dr. Olaye expressed his gratitude to supporters towards his successful nomination as chairman of the Board.

In his words, "By the grace of God I am now the Board Chairman-elect of Jones Creek Field. I want to use this medium to appreciate the Board members that have given me the necessary support to emerge as Board Chairman.

"I also appreciate my community leaders among whom are High Chief Michael Johnny, High Chief P. T. Heavens, Chief James Tangbowei, Chief Mosco Johnny, Chief Simeon Bebenimibo, Chief Matthew Oruke, Chief Daniel Okpelle, Hon. Shadrach Otuaro (chairman, Okerenkoko Community), Apst. P. E. German, Apst. Census Oluba, Apst. Akpos Oturubo, Coach James Igare, and others who gave me their support and for nominating me to represent Okerenkoko Federated Community," Dr. Olaye added.

While accepting the position of Board chairman of the OKOEA HCDT, Dr. Olaye pledged his commitment towards achieving the objectives of the Board and to run an all-inclusive office that will give access to relevant stakeholders.

He said, "I accept the responsibility that has been assigned to me. And by the grace of God I will not let them down.

"I am going to pursue all necessary projects. My office will be an all-inclusive one. I am going to engage all the necessary stakeholders and my office will be open to all the Board members for their contributions and we are going to work together as a team.

"I will use my office to attract tangible projects that will better the lives of host communities and the fields. We will try as much as possible to make sure we have amicable cordial relationship with the host communities, relevant stakeholders and the board members," he pledged.

Dr. Olaye is the Managing Director of Doupade and Sons Nigeria Limited, and was conferred with a Doctorate Degree in Engineering from the prestigious University of Benin, Edo State, late last year.
