INSECURITY: X User Slams "Wicked Northern Political Elites", Calls on Youths to Resist Being 'Manipulated'

updated 18 Jan, 2024

A social media user on the microblogging site, X (formerly Twitter), has slammed those he referred to as "Wicked Northern Political Elites" for the cause of the massive high rate of the criminal activities of kidnapping and banditary that are currently ravaging the North and other parts of the country.

The X user who goes by the name @BrotherBarth was responding to a tweet from a federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, who had lamented in his post on Thursday, January 18, 2024, that those involved in the acts of kidnapping and banditary were being sponsored going by the unkempt nature of foot soldiers', depicting a poverty-stricken lifestyle despite huge sums of money they had received as ransoms.

Sen. Sani had tweeted: “The puzzle we are yet to solve is that the foot soldiers who kidnap people and receive ransom in hundreds of millions remain poor and look wretched whenever they are arrested. They are mostly in their teens and twenties. There is no evidence of wealth or comfort in their lives and even the clothes they wear. The question is who are the ultimate beneficiaries of these huge sums of money and who supplies them with the weapons they use for their acts of criminality?”

The X user whose response, titled 'Northern Political Elites See The Millions Of Poor And Vulnerable Northerners As Election Figures, Not Humans' cited the manipulation by the elites who he claims see the poor in their midst as political tools he termed as "Election Figures".

Below is the full text.

"1. Do you know why norther(n) politicians proudly tell you that 90% of their supporters are not on social media? It is because they have carefully made it so.

"2. You hear about Government sponsored weddings in the North, it is for the same reason. They want the poor to keep breeding children, that they may continue boasting of the figures to win elections.

"3. Basically, for the wicked Northern political elites, the millions of poor and vulnerable Northerners are only useful as 'ELECTION FIGURES'.

"4. This is why instead of making massive investment in badic education, they're investing Government's monies in sponsoring marriages for people without capacity to take good care of the children they will bring forth.

"5. President Goodluck Jonathan desired and worked towards lifting these vulnerable people out of poverty of ignorance by creating Almajiri schools, but the moment Buhari came to power, he practically stifled the program to death. It was not a policy error. It was a calculated political move, albeit a wicked one.

"6. Same elites promote Sharia law in such a way that it is used to hupnotise and frighten the same poor and vulnerable people. They mandate them on how their women must dress and behave, but their own daughters go against every single line of such instructions and get away with it. They flog them and sometimes chop off their hands for minor hunger-induced stealing, while they go about stealing billions and trillions with their both hands and no body even dressed suggest chopping off even one of their fingers.

"7. Ordinarily, Internet and social media would have exposed these wicked Northern elites to the poor and vulnerable, but still they continue to manipulate them so they don't see and thus remain the most uninformed of the society. They confine them to censored information they want them to get through their transistor radio.

"8. More saddening is that a few of them that have got education, instead of going against the lies of their fathers and work for the emancipation of their millions of deceived brethren, due to greed for money from these same very rich, powerful, but wicked politicians, align with them and get paid to come on social media to promote their 16th century lies, and continue to keep their people in the dark and undeveloped, while using them as 'election figures'.

"9. Good news is that there are rising, a set of honest young men and women from the North who are doing their best to educate their people away from the lies of their fathers, and liberate them from avoidable backwardness that they have been deliberately kept in. That is why you hear North this, North that, as if they are of a different country. They say so because they know that they have millions of deceived young men they can always deploy to cause mayhem for their political interest. Yet all of then have their own children in working and safe environment living in affluence. Think about it, with all the kidnappings and terrorists attacks you hear in the North, when last did you hear that the son or a daughter of a notable politician was a victim?

“10. My dear Northern brothers and sisters, 'shine your eyes' and say no to the lies of your fathers that have kept your brethren miserably poor in undeserving environment. They give you the impression that you have the numbers, that you're born to rule, that you determine who becomes Nigeria's President, and make you feel special about it, yet your people remain the most backwards of all tribes in Nigeria. Rise up and save yourselves from the lies from the likes of Waspapping, Arewa this, Arewa that, and listen to the voice of reason. It is obvious that a leader that will male your life better will have to be completely disconnected from these elites that have held you down for more than 50 years. Let he that have ears, hear.”
